A Seamless Electrical HANDY HINT:
When you’re at work on Tuesday take a moment to remember all the workers globally who have died from a work related injury or illness. In Australia, despite a reduction in numbers over the last decade, 185 workers lost their lives at work last year. By raising awareness of work safety, further injuries and deaths may be prevented.
After you have reflected on those workers lost, have a look around and note how important safety is at your workplace. Do you have first aid stations / kits, safety checks, safety procedures in place, up to date safety equipment, regular updates and toolbox talks, safe walkways / tools / equipment / safe structures / offices etc?
If not, then begin to secure a culture of prevention at your work … SAY SOMETHING. REPORT IT!
World Day for Safety and Health at Work invites you to to join them in building a culture of prevention on occupational safety and health. This preventative culture is one in which “the right to a safe and healthy working environment is respected at all levels, where governments, employers and workers actively participate in securing a safe and healthy working environment through a system of defined rights, responsibilities and duties and where the highest priority is accorded to the principle of prevention” – Safe Day.
